PIPE JACKING MACHINE
Pipe Jacking Machine (PJM) is a method for installing underground pipes, ducts, and culverts with minimal surface disruption. It involves using hydraulic jacks to push pipes through the ground while excavating a shield. The process can be used for pipes ranging from 400 mm to 4000 mm in diameter and can achieve drives of several hundred meters in a straight line or to a radius.
AUGER BORING MACHINE
Auger Boring Machine (ABM) is a trenchless application in which a casing pipe is jacked into the earth’s surface while simultaneously rotating helical augers remove the excavated spoil.
Rotation of the helical auger chain causes the cutting edge to bore through the ground, moving spoil behind the casing pipe, allowing for removal. Excavated material can be removed by mechanical means such as conveyors or excavators, by hand or through the use of muck buckets.
TUNNEL BORING MACHINE
A Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is a machine used to excavate tunnels. Tunnels are excavated through hard rock, wet or dry soil, or sand, each of which requires specialized technology.
TBMs limit the disturbance to the surrounding ground and produce a smooth tunnel wall. This reduces the cost of lining the tunnel, and is suitable for use in urban areas.
