On June 2023, Pertamina Algeria together with Sonatrach shutdown the Menzel Ledjmet Nord oil field in Algeria in order to replace the Bundle Compressor. The compressor building was not designed for this kind of job because it does not have service crane or any other handling system for the bundle replacement job.
The compressor is one of the primary equipment for the field. It is a high precision and high speed rotating machinery. Therefore, dismantling any part of the compressor requires proper handling system. LIMOV was chosen by Pertamina as the only Engineering Consultancy to provide the engineering design and support for Service Crane that can be built in very short time and can be installed through the compressor building without disrupting the existing pipelines and equipments around the Compressor.
This kind of work requires highly detailed survey and preparation. LIMOV provides all the design and calculation for the steel structure, mechanical equipment (hoist and trolley), and also details of civil anchoring system. The Turnaround ran smoothly and was completed by the end of June 2023. Another successful collaboration between Pertamina Algeria and LIMOV.
