Together with Pertamina Algeria and Sonatrach team, LIMOV completed the Radiant Coil replacement for H-101 Fired Heater in Menzel Ledjmet Nord (MLN) Oil Field, Algeria. It is the most critical job during the scheduled MLN 2020 Turnaround.
The method of building modular tower crane inside the Fired Heater to extract all the old pipe bundles through existing manhole and then insert the new pipe bundles through the same way, is the first in the world. LIMOV was appointed by Pertamina Algeria Eksplorasi Produksi (PAEP) to provide design, calculation, detailed shop drawings, and supervision for the project.
The conventional way of doing Radiant Coil replacement is to dismantle the stack and top part of Fired Heater. This is very time consuming and dangerous because heavy crane and heavy-lifting process in a hazardous area. Using LIMOV design and lifting equipment, Pertamina dramatically increase the safety since there is no heavy lifting involved and also cut down the time and cost because the existing Fired Heater structure is untouched. We managed to finish the turnaround process three days ahead with zero accident.
